Shear
Definition of "to shear"
When looking at my initial sketches I realized that there was more an evolution and exploration of carving out rather than shearing. Shearing is more of the notion of moving or distorting something. In this case this verb creates something that may be flat and straight to something that is diagonal and has some form of stress as seen in the diagrams below.
